20 LFRV tips!
Went for a shorter run today, 6km sweat session followed by some nude sun worshipping. I can’t stress enough how important this vital nutrient is for health. We have glands between our legs & under our arms that need stimulation from the sun, it helps regulate our hormones.
Munchies today were 15 bananas in smoothie form, 2kg oranges, 5 big mangoes & a large tom, basil, cucc, zucc, orange juice dressing salad. I love eating this much & not gaining weight or feeling heavy, the majority of what i am eating is just water! How fattening can water be?? Not very trust me.
I feel like sharing some tips on how to succeed on a Low Fat Raw Vegan lifestyle….
- If you are a male aim to eat at least 3000 calories from fruit a day. Females a minimum of 2500 a day.Download CronOmeter and work out your calories. Make sure you a getting a minimum of 80% of your calories from carbs, max of 10% from fat and 10% from protein.
- If u are attracted to eating cooked food or feel like making a high fat gourmet raw meal then u haven’t eaten enough fruit during the day
- Check out the article I wrote under ‘My Articles’ TAB about eating enough sugar.
- Eat your fruit ripe always! Use all your senses – sight, touch & smell to choose your fruit. Unripe fruit will negatively impact your digestion. Check out this thread about fruit ripeness.
- Eat high water content fruits early in the day & move onto denser fruits as the day goes on.
- If u are feeling emotional, check to make sure u have had enough SWS – Sugar, Water, Sleep
- For a great youth preserver, on waking drink 1 litre of water & aim for at least another 1 litre throughout the day
- Aim to eat mono meals as much as possible especially throughout the day, this is heaven on digestion
- Munch down Date-orade! Blend about 20-30 dates with 1.2 liters of water (how much water depends on your taste). Date-orade is a great to top up on calories. Sip throughout the day or sit down to a morning/lunch meal. Great for endurance events.
- Always be prepared with enough ripe fruit on hand – Buy a box of bananas & let them ripen up so u never go hungry
- If u are thirsty then u are already dehydrated, stay on top of hydration or u will encourage wrinkles, headaches, fluid retention & general disharmony in the body. Clear urine throughout the day – 8-12 times
- Keep fat levels low! We are designed to get most of our calories from sweet juicy fruits not fats. Too much fat in the body raw or cooked inhibits oxygen uptake, transfer & delivery
- Stop being a ‘candida-feeder‘ & learn about proper food combing. Fruit likes to be eaten alone & preferably mono
- Get your fruit meal in ideally within an hour of completing your workout to receive optimal training effect.
- Squat on the toilet instead of sitting, if we sit it kinks our bowels…there’s no toilets in nature folks! We are ment to squat!
- Get the 80-10-10 book by Dr Doug Graham!
- Get sunshine on your pink bits as much as possible & reap the benefits of balanced hormones & emotions
- Eat before u go out to social occasions & take ripe fruit with u for when u are faced with Canapes at the party
- Make sure u are getting 10gms of carbs per kg of body weight per day
- In nature we would get 12hrs of sleep by going to bed on sundown & getting up at sunrise, this may not be always possible but this is optimal.
- Always have an attitude of gratitude! Write down 4 things u are grateful for daily, some people would give anything to be you.
Ok so there is my list! Implement & receive
I’m off to bed, take it easy & eat more fruit!!!

Hey Melinda
If I remember correctly its sweet tomato, mango, basil & a little rocket spiralized over zuchinni noodles…very simple but very yummy!
How do you figure out how many calories you need?? I weigh 110 at 5’6″ and would like to gain 10 lbs. I can’t seem to figure it out on the nutridiary unless it’s right in front of my eyes.
Thnks Freelee
Go to nutridiary.com and it will work out how many cals you need for you! Make sure you put ‘maintain current weight’ and aim for this amount of calories with sweet juicy fruits

Hi Freelee,
I am keen to give 80-10-10 a go. I am a raw food beegan (I do eat honey), I try to keep it low fat, but I am sure going to 80-10-10 is the way for me. I love fruit more than any other food, I like veges too, but fruit rocks. Bananas, dates, melons, sounds like heaven to me.
Now I was wondering what I should do about greens? I usually have 2 green smoothies (just leafy greens, bananas and water – no silly super-food combos) a day plus some sort of vege salad for dinner.
Also, what about avocadoes? I know they have a high fat content, but they are so yum, how many should I limit myself to per day/week?
I am really looking forward to making these changes as the current raw diet that I have adopted is still sometimes disrupted by cooked foods or raw high-fat binges. I know my body struggles with nuts and grains and cocoa powder gives me nightmares and insomnia. I feel that purifying my diet through 80-10-10 will help overcome the cravings for these foods.
So maybe you could share your thoughts on leafy greens and avocadoes?
Also, have you tried juicing celery and using the juice for your date-orade?

Hi Freelee,
Do you have a reference or any information this: “We have glands between our legs & under our arms that need stimulation from the sun, it helps regulate our hormones.”? It’s just that I have not read or heard about this anywhere else before, so I would love to read up on it. Cheers, Carey (from Adelaide)
