Bare your bits to the Sun…
The sun shone today!! Oh Yes indeed it came out in all its glory! Strangely enough I had the cleaning urge consume me this morning (not a usual occurance that’s for sure) so I had to go with it…
Got about an hour decent cleaning in & before long the sun was calling me outside… Indulged in a nude bake for about an hour…my skin just soaked up the vitamin D, it’s really quite amazing the cleansing & healing properties of the sun.
Its actually pretty ironic how many health campaigns there are that warn of the dangers posed by solar radiation….yet look at the stats & u will see that the public appears to be at risk from the dangers of inadequate exposure: peeps living in big cities spend a large proportion of the daylight hours indoors, or in transit, and are deprived of the healing benefits of sunlight. As a result vitamin D deficiency is rampant and really does pose a significant threat to health.

Humans are designed to be in the tropics, we originated in the equatorial regions (or the garden of eden if u prefer) then spread out to colder climates hence our modern day dependance on clothing & heating….
Go to the tropics & find out for yourself…YOU DON”T NEED CLOTHES! It’s so amazing…I was recently in Thailand for 4months & it averaged 35DegCel a day…pure bliss, at night it was perfect, errring on the side of neeeding a fan not a blanket.

Now I’m back in SA & starting to see the sun again, the last month I have been feeling a little off & on which I am attributing to the occasional lack of carbs & also to a large degree the lack of sunshine, just another reminder of the importance of getting my daily dose, it is a vital nutrient afterall. I’ve decided that I’m not going to live or travel to non-tropical climates anymore, my heart is where the heat is & Im going to honour that… so Asia & North Qld are going to be big on the travel menu.
Get your ass’s to the tropics peeps…the tan is better, fruit is better, the mood is better!
LOVEFREELY!
NamDokMai Heaven!!!!!!! Come get ya juicy fruit flesh here!

Soo true, I’ve really struggled these past few years since moving from Broome to Sydney. Life in my tin shed by Roebuck Bay was awesome and I remember struggling whenever the temperature dipped a little below 30 degrees.
I have a carbon footprint like King Kong down here in Sydney, with the heater on all the time. I too am planning the big move back to the tropics – or at least the sub tropics.
Cool
Yeh life really is sweeter in the tropics. We have managed not to use the heater here (even tho its get down to 3deg at night) Its too dehydrated & like u said leaves a significant footprint. U lived in a tin shed? Nice. Thanks for dropping in my friend X
I was the Warden at Broome Bird Observatory. The cottage was made of tin. I loved it: right on the shores of beautiful Roebuck Bay.
I’ve lived in a few tin sheds in my time. I once lived in an old logger’s hut in the rainforest above Innisfail in North Queensland. That was sooo nice, amid the jungle and my many friends who lived in it. All the happiest times in my life have been when I lived amid nature in a tin shed with next to no possessions.
How lovely! Yes the less possessions the better…I used to live in Sydney with a full unit of STUFF, now I have one big backpack & a smaller one & that’s it….ah simplicity is key X
i really enjoyed reading this blog lot’s of valuable info keep up the good work !!!!!
thank you Dalena!!
Wow, I wish I could favorite some blogs. I love it! I assume you don’t believe in sunscreen at all? I’m living in Mexico now and most of the time just absorb the sun as you do. I believe in it’s loving and healing energy as well. But ocassionally it’ll be so glaring and I’m outside for a period of time… I got a serious burn on the side of my nose that almost looks like a little scar.
It’s fading of course but does give me a little concern. Anything natural that can be used to prevent this? I guess a hat… boo…
Hi Freely,
I’m new to this way of life (as in discovered it three days ago) but since I started reading I can’t get enough. Everything that I have read just rings true to the way I feel and what my body tells me. I may have been a whole lot more sceptical had I not been in Thailand for three months recently. Fearing food poisoning from meat and dairy I lived off fruit mainly and papaya salad, etc. I have never felt better in my entire life. I came back to Australia and fell back into dairy (I have never been a big meat eater) and have noticed myself slow down. Yesterday I ran for longer than I think I ever have and felt as good at the end as I did at the beginning and was absolutley blown away by it. I’m still shocked by my physical performance. I am waiting for my copy of 80/10/10 diet to arrive and cna’t wait to learn more so that I know I am in the right direction fully. Thanks for your blog, it is great inspiration as I have already been fielding questions and concerns from family and friends. I know how I feel though and they cannot strip that from me, I know they only want what is best for me so I’m sure they will start to come around once I have been committed for a while and they can witness my success for themselves.

Awesome Kristie it is so great to receive your feedback! I had a similar experience to what you described in Vietnam, I avoided meat and as much dairy as possible and really reaped the benefits. Let me know how you go my friend, the “good book” will set you straight
