Wednesday -Day 3 -Rest day
Day 3…
Decided to have a rest day today due to the double cardio session yesterday and I must say all day I was sorta chomping at the bit to train but at the same time was feeling like a rest. Was actually going to do a long ride because the weather was nice and overcast but didn’t quite make it.I also broke my dried fruit rule already! I had a few bananas mum dehydrated…
1.5litres of water
7:00am: Walked up steep hill and back 15mins

12.30: 7banana smoothie + 3 dried bananas
600mls water
3.30pm: 1 x 1kg pawpaw
I ate more then I thought today (& its not over yet!) part of the reason is I didn’t feel like I got enough yesterday and also it was cold today so the body burns more cals, another reason I had too much time on my hands to think about food but all good, mostly smoothies and mono meals so digestion and energy is great.

Training for a Duathlon/half marathon
So I have decided to train for a Duathlon/half marathon, I will record my food, training and feelings on here.
So my goal is to be….
*Nut & dried fruit free for 100days
*100% raw fruits & vegies only
*Lowfat, incorporating a max of 2fat days a week (eg-1/2 avo max at a time)*Train & compete in my first Duathlon, currently working out which one to go in, thinking after the 100days of training & optimum diet I will be prime for it!
Got to work out my training routine…

*Day Quota = 2019 cals
*Water = 2.7 litresNumbers, numbers and more numbers!
Thursday…Free but in control
What standards did I hold myself to today?-
Contribution: Made mum & her boyfriend a raw smorgasbord….starting with Appetiser: banana milk-Ripe banana, celery, water blended
Main: 1) Avo&Orange dressing over fettucine zuchinni wrapped in iceberg lettuce
2) s’dried tom, cashew, basil dressing over spaghetti zuch
Dessert:Avo & Banana icecream with a date sauce on a bed of dried bananas (was a crowd pleaser)I must add that I don’t eat this way and wouldn’t usually recommend these combos but my mum & her boyf are not raw & I was appealing to tastebuds used to cooked food.It was a lot of fun but I realise all the hassle that goes into food prep when its not really needed! I would much rather prepare and eat a mono meal of really ripe bananas.
*Sweat session: 45min hilly jog
*Lowfat raw veg: Yes plus a half an avo tonight so I won’t be having avo/overt fats again for a week or so.
*4litres water: Didn’t quite make 4litres, managed 3 but had plenty of water with my GS all day
*Inspiring literature: 2hrs of 80-10-10
*Yoga/resistance: Not today but had an incling to do a session all day
Felt a little tense earlier today but CHOSE to change to feel good & the feeling passed. Its really empowering to know I am in charge of how I feel.
Visited Nimbin today
Went for a drive with mum to visit my cousin in Nimbim and also pick up some macadamias for mums fruit and nut biz. Dropped into Tropical fruit world near Byron, grabbed a half fresh jackfruit (saved some seeds to sprout and plant), a mamey sapote (orange flesh) which needs to ripen and some other interesting fruit which I can’t remember the name of…
So did I hold myself to a higher standard today??
* Hydration…had 1.5litres of water on rising, 1 after my ride and 1.5 throughout the day
* Gratitude….10mins of gratitude, I visualised hugging loved ones and strangers.
* Daily sweat session……45mins of a pretty grueling hilly bike circuit.
* Yoga/resistance routine……30mins of yoga, handstand holds, bridges and splits in the park
* Self-love…Sunbaked briefly and cleaned and shaped my nails* Contribution/helping others…….Spoke to my cousin and mum most of the day about raw and helped them with queries..
* Inspiring literature……Read 80-10-10 for 1hr
* Mentor…..Haven’t looked into finding a mentor yet although Harley is always that for me.
* Invigorating behaviour…….Cold shower and no soap, smell like a daisy too
* Low Fat raw vegan……..Had smoothies most of day but stopped at Tropical Fruit world and bought a beautiful half a jackfruit, it was so fresh! Got a load of fresh lemonades off my cousins tree. Drinking smoothie a bit late tonight, must improve.
* Apathetic behaviour didn’t get a look in today!!!
Im also going to start recording my eating on nutridiary.
Monday…my new life standards
I realise the power in keeping a journal of high standards both for my own motivation & for others so here I am with my best recently refined rawlife success recipe yet…
*Find a mentor who is holding themselves to a higher standard than I am and take notes, its easy to lower my standards to mainstream expectations but it doesn’t make me happy or inspire/help others.
*Everymorning on rising drink 1.5litres of filtered water (has been great for my skin & digestion…well everything really)
*Everyday (no exceptions) listen to or read at least 1/2hr of inspiring material. Make it at a similar time each morning so I get into a routine.
*Help/contribute to others everyday at least 1/2hr either via forums/email/in person.
*Live a lowfat vegan lifestyle, only high water content fruits/GS in the AM, mono meals/GS throughout the day and heavier meals early in the night before 7am and preferably on nightfall.
*LISTEN to my positive, productive intuitive inner voice, this served me well on my trip when the going got tough.
*Daily exercise (I mean breaking a sweat!) is a MUST at least 6 days a week and incorporating a rest day once a week.
*Currently developing the routine of 15mins of yoga & meditation everymorning after my waterfix followed by GreenSmoothie
*Spend time being grateful for my life and people in it, send blessings to everyone- my friends, family even people I feel tension around & thank God for the beautiful amazing life path I’m on.
*Nude sunbake as often as logistically possible There are glands on our body that never (but should) get exposed to the sun, any guesses to where they are? One is under our armpits.
*Always squat on the loo for proper elimination. I know I know you probably are squirming right now but hey we all go to the loo lets do it right!
*think about deleting the lesson above…;-P
*Aim for 4litres of water everyday. There is a reason to maintain our brains hydration at 85% water.
*Nip apathetic behaviour in the butt by doing whatever needs to be done as soon as I don’t feel like doing it, live in the moment. So this is the list I will keeping coming back to, the standards I aim to achieve, fortunately most I am already doing but staying consistent can be challenging & there is always room to improve.
Hey hey!
The internet has now been connected so I’m online again.
))
I’ve been at my mums for a week now, having a great time too. The view from mums place is really amazing, it looks over the Tweed River & the Ocean at Greenmount. So what have I been up to?….
I have been really enjoying the hills around Bilambil (never thought id say that!) ,everyday I have either jogged them or cycled them. I actually shocked myself the first time I got up the hill from mums place to the main road, it is very steep, luckily it doesn’t kick on for too long. I think the training I have done with the Bob trailer on my trip has really paid off. There is a great little hill circuit which I have done a number of times, yesterday I cycled 3 circuits and it took me almost an hour of puffing. Since the trip the importance of daily exercise has been hit home even more, I have to sweat everyday & I love the feeling of my heart thumping and lungs rapidly expanding….oh the simple things in life.
I helped mum with her organice fruit & nut market stall the other day at Nerang and got myself a nice basket of assorted fruits & greens, I have a photo too, actually i have plenty of photos to post. I was lucky enough to find a pesticide-free, locally grown jackfruit. Half of it was rotten but the other was perfectly ripe so I grabbed it…mmm it was so gooood.
Went to Byron bay yesterday and checked out the organic & spray-free market they have there every Thursday. My main motivation was to get cane juice and I wasn’t disappointed! I downed a litre within 1hr, it was so lush. I checked out the Freeway down to Byron & its actually been upgraded and now has an awesome cycling shoulder on it so Im planning on cycling down there at some stage and maybe staying over then cycling back the next day. The market was great, so much fresh fruit & veg, although Im only having mainly banana smoothies at the moment. I got about a 14kg box of ripe organic local bananas for $30, not super cheap but pretty reasonable I thought. It is quite challenging to find organic cavandish nanas around here, I have made a few contacts for non-organic at a few IGA’s but the taste is definitely inferior.
Im heading for Currumbin Markets with mum tomorrow. Should be interesting, will be hoping to find some more ripe bananas as I need to keep ahead as Im getting through about 20 a day!
The scenery around here is so beautiful & tropical, I really feel at home amongst the warmth & tropics. Unfortunately the melons are pretty ordinary but I guess its not really time for them yet
I have been cycling as much as possible, i feel so alive on my bike, there has been a few impatient GC drivers but for the most part everyones been great.
Ran into my cousin and her man the other day at Murwillumbah. It was a very unique meeting as mum wanted lunch & we visited 3 cafes (I wouldn’t let her eat at those ones) before we found this lovely organic one & there in the cafe was my cousin from Nimbin! The chances of seeing her were so slim that she didn’t recognise me because the logistics didn’t add up. I sat down and had a mono meal of mandies while everyone else had their oily dishes. My cousin asked me about my lifestyle & it progressed to the stage of speaking about my cousins boyfriends mums health problems, she has an overactive thyroid. Im not an expert on the subject but I know diet has an incredible impact on illness so we chatted about that and I passed on some websites for them to check out, they really seemed interested so Im keen to hear how it goes.
Well im off for now, I think I will post all the things I learnt from my trip tomorrow.
Ciao for now x
